Not so much Exploring

So as you may have anticipated, we couldn't successfully keep up the weekly weekend adventures. College apps, homework and life in general is an overpowering force that we all have to get through. But now the snow has set in and tomorrow is Thanksgiving. The adventures are soon to set in again as the snow covers the hills and skiing of both kinds ensue, along with wandering through the snow. Have a great Thanksgiving, and check in again for pictures of Detroit.

Biking the Backroad

Okay, so maybe not really the backroads, but it sure seemed that way at 9pm when there was no light and we went wandering through parts of Madison I had never been before.

We found a bridge on the way back and we concluded that bridges are our favorite pass time when adventuring. It's not an adventure without a bridge.

We also played on the railroad tracks that were on the bridge, and I've recently learned how to use Adobe programs, so there you go.
"The ghosts of us, prance and play, as we sit and wait, and watch them sway." Sorry it's eery, but our night was kind of eery.

On our way back from getting lost on the west side, finding an eery dog park, and then finding the Arboretum, we found a neighborhood which miraculously led back a larger street where we could see the capital. It was a good thing too, because we both thought we would be going the opposite direction, but there it was in all it's lit-up glory, reaching into the sky like "Hey, Kaia and Liana, your going the wrong way... come to me!"

Once we got back to the bike path around the lake, we say this. I personally think that it is one of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen with my own eyes, of our city.

We thought our bike trip would be over, but were to thrilled to find new places to roam to go home just yet. I had biked past the most serene looking place a week before, and so we set out to the east side to find it again. We were as successful as we could have have been at 11pm. Going off the bike path and walking into the woods on a trail that led to yet another railroad track and along a little creek.

It was a blast finding all these new spots, like the empty dog park and the Arboretum, which I hadn't been to before. And finding that serene spot in the middle of the east side was a treat.

Make sure you have something adventurous or fun happen at least once a week, balance your life, especially since school has started up.

About Our Blog

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown,
for going out, I found, was really going in.

Realizing this is the beginning of an adventurous year is one of the most exhilarating feelings. We didn't realize till half way through our trip that this is what we wanted to be doing every weekend for the rest of, well forever. Not canoeing on the lake every time, but a new and different adventure every time.

We started making a list of all the things we wanted to explore and all the fun times we would have. As our first weekend is coming to an end I had the idea to record our year through the memory of our great time at Conserve School, a semester school in the north woods of Wisconsin.
